Outcomes

Finding the right outcomes

When a student first starts at our school, they have an initial baseline assessment to help us better understand their needs and establish a curriculum ‘starting point’.

This will include reading and numeracy checks and an academic assessment through BKSB Assessments (Basic Key Skills Builder).

The baseline data we collect is triangulated with a student’s EHCP (Education, Health and Care Plan) and other information from professionals. This enables staff to set long-term targets and bridge existing gaps in learning.

Once we know what their level of attainment is, we can then recommend the right curriculum, whether that be working towards Entry Level, Functional Skills, or GCSE qualifications.

In addition, we can offer our students the chance to study ASDAN (Award Scheme Development and Accreditation Network) qualifications and AQA (Assessment and Qualification Alliance) Unit Awards.
